Best Advice

I will (gasp!) have a highschooler next year. For those of you who have survived this adventure, please give me your best advice on what to avoid, as well as what to look forward to. idea

Thanks!

I have a 10th grader and I allow her to select from a list of topics within the subject. For ex: in History, we do't go unit by unit. I allow her to select them as her interest grows. We also allow her to research further into a topic when her interest is sparked.

We also looked into other units of Math rather than the more popular subjects. We went with business math instead of Algerba 2. next year she'll be taking Stewardship. Then Consumer math. For what she wants to do with her life, these are the more appropriate maths for her to study.

Brainstorm with your highschooler as to what they would like to learn.
